The Washington, D.C. Auto Show’s Influence on Automotive Policy
The Washington, D.C. Auto Show offers manufacturers a unique opportunity to influence automotive legislation through its Public Policy Day. Held the day before the consumer show opens, this pivotal event convenes industry leaders, government officials, and media to tackle critical issues facing the automotive sector.
In 2024, it featured a dynamic Auto Caucus Roundtable with U.S. Representatives Debbie Dingell, Marcy Kaptur, Mike Kelly, Bob Latta, and Roger Williams, who engaged in discussions about the automotive industry’s most pressing issues, including the electric vehicle market and emerging technologies. The previous year, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and White House Climate Advisor Ali Zaidi joined over 150 Hill and Federal Agency staffers, as well as more than 500 industry and media representatives at the DC Auto Show to explore these evolving technologies with the manufacturers developing them.
“Government decisions impacting the automotive sector are made right here in our backyard,” says John O’Donnell, President of WANADA and the DC Auto Show. “We are honored to be the venue where legislators and industry leaders converge to discuss future regulations and objectives.”
By participating in Public Policy Day, manufacturers place themselves at the forefront of regulatory discussions, influencing decisions that will shape the industry’s future. For those looking to drive change and impact automotive policy, the DC Auto Show’s Public Policy Day is a critical platform.
Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of the conversation that will define the future of the industry.
